Maligatenna is situated between Bandarawela and Attampitiya town. This village is surrounded by tea estates and rice fields. Villagers’ main income is from agriculture. Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim people are living in Maligatenna peacefully. Badulla / Wepassawela Sinhala School and Badulla/Uva Highlands TMV are situated in Maligatenna. Most of the estate workers’ children are studying in Bd/Uva Highlands TMV and the farmers’ children are studying in the Sinhala School. The Uva Highlands TMV has a computer lab with ten computers which was funded by the Secondary Education Modernization Project (SEMP.) 60% of the students study computers.
