Veyangoda village is situated in the Gampaha district, Western Province of Sri Lanka. Veyangoda is a town between Colombo - Kandy railway line. It is about few kilometers away from the main Colombo Kandy road. It is connected to Nittambuwa, Gampaha Ja-ela by road. Katunayake Airport is close to Veyangoda. The Veyangoda railway station is one of the major stations on the Colombo Kandy railway and all express trains stop at Veyangoda. Veyangoda was well known for the Textile Mill of the former National Textile Corporation and Veyangoda fabric produced by it.

Veyangoda is in the coconut belt with a large number of coconut estates. Agriculture is the main livelihood of the people around Veyangoda. In 2003 Economic Center was started and It is located close to the railway crossing in the Nitrtambuwa - Katunayake highway and at Bandaranayake Mawatha about 50 meters towards the road leading to the Veyangoda weekly fair.
